Christmas day, Wonder Woman 1984 will finally be hitting the big screen (and small screens for HBO Max subscribers) after months of pushing the release date back due to the Covid pandemic.

We cannot wait to see the gorgeous Gal Gadot grace our screens once again. Ever since Gadot came on our screens as Wonder Woman back in 2017, we've been anticipating her return as the superhero—and her amazing press tour beauty, of course (after all, she is a model).

But do you ever wonder who her hubby is? The new film takes us back to the ‘80s, so we decided to take things back, although not quite as far, to the beginning of her real-life love story. In 2008, she married businessman and real estate mogul Yaron Varsano.

Obviously, she has shot to stardom the last few years, but we hear very little about her husband. So we’ve rounded up 6 things you need to know about the man behind Wonder Woman ahead of the release of the newest movie in the franchise.

They Met At an Israeli Desert Party

Gadot told Glamour they met through mutual friends at a desert party, which really sounds more like a retreat. “It was all about yoga, chakras, and eating healthy—we didn't exactly find ourselves there, but we found each other,” she said.

He’s 10 Years Her Senior

He just celebrated his 45th birthday this past June. Gadot alludes that he knew she was the “one” before her because he’s “older” and wiser. “He told me on our second date he was serious and wasn't going to wait more than two years to ask me to marry him,” she told Glamour. “Fast-forward two years; he proposed. We were married in 2008.”

They Just Celebrated Their 12th Wedding Anniversary

The two lovebirds tied the knot back in 2008, and just celebrated their 12th anniversary in September. Gadot posted a sweet selfie to commemorate the special day.

“Happy anniversary @jaronvarsano you’re my one. My only. My everything..” she captioned the post. “12 years of marriage feels like a walk in the park with you. To many more to come. I’m yours forever”

He’s Very Supportive of Her Career

When Gadot started booking movies (she played Gisele in the Fast and Furious franchise before landing Wonder Woman) the two did a lot of traveling. Gadot said she became anxious about traveling once she had her first daughter, Alma, according to Glamour. But Varsano always encouraged her to continue her career.

“It was my husband who told me: ‘Gal, think about what kind of a role model you want to be. If you want to show Alma that she can follow her dreams, that's what you should do, and we will figure out the logistics,’” she told Glamour.

He’s an Israeli Businessman and Built a Hotel in Tel Aviv

He and his brother co-created and built the Varsano Hotel in Tel Aviv. According to Daily Mail, in 2015, they sold the hotel to Roman Abramovich, Russian businessman and owner of London’s Chelsea Football Club.

They Have Two Daughters Together

In 2011, Gadot gave birth to their daughter Alma, and in 2016 they announced they were expecting again. They welcomed the newest addition to their family Maya in March 2017.

“And then we were four…” she posted to Instagram. “She is here, Maya. I feel so complete blessed and thankful for all the Wonders in my life”
