It's safe to say that social media plays a huge role in our lives. Especially when it comes to the wedding planning process, the latest trends can be accessed with just a click of a button, or simply by scrolling down your social media timeline. What’s even better is that bloggers, influencers, models, and digital talent are able to showcase their own nuptials–providing awe-inspiring ideas for every type of bride. From décor to fashion, to music, brides-to-be now have a front-row seat to some of the biggest wedding celebrations.
At Brides, we're in love with every real wedding we write about and have put together a few of our fashion favorites. Check out the list below for our top real weddings, thrown by some of the most stylish and influential mavens we stalk (let’s admit it!) on social media.
Chiara Ferragni and Federico Leonardo Lucia, 2018

Digital entrepreneur Chiara Ferragni, and rapper Federico Leonardo Lucia, a.k.a. Fedez, wowed the world with an epic three-day celebration in Noto, Italy. Chiara wore three custom Dior gowns designed by Dior creative director, Maria Grazia Chiuri, who was also a guest at the wedding. The lavish affair included an evening of fireworks, a performance by the groom, and a full-on carnival after-party (equipped with a Ferris wheel and carousel!) While we understand a carnival may not fit your wedding theme, there are a couple of elements we think every bride could replicate. Like the canopy of twinkle lights, she hung over her dinner tables at the reception, and her unique dessert idea–a cake suspended mid-air surrounded by flowers.
Nazanin Mandi Pimentel and Miguel, 2018

You may recognize actress, model, and entrepreneur Nazanin Mandi Pimentel from her gorgeous selfies on Instagram, or as the wife to R&B singer, Miguel. Nazanin and Miguel stunned fans in 2018 with their star-studded California wedding. The bride wore two looks–a form-fitted lace Monique Lhuillier gown for the ceremony, and a custom Carly Cushnie gown for the party. The entire wedding definitely provides major inspiration for brides-to-be (from the cake to the floral design, to the table settings), but we'd like to point out one element we're still obsessed with. She and Miguel’s after-hours, In-N-Out Burger food truck. Guests always love late-night snacks after hours of drinking and dancing!
Chanel Iman and Sterling Shepard, 2018

Let's start off by acknowledging how Sterling Shepard proposed to model and style maven, Chanel Iman...with two surprise events on her 27th birthday! He first proposed at their New York City apartment overlooking the skyline, and later gathered their friends and family for a surprise birthday party. That itself is an indicator of how phenomenal the couple's wedding turned out (which was planned in under three months!). Married in Los Angeles, Chanel didn't hold back enlisting the help of event planner extraordinaire, Mindy Weiss. The bride wore an amazing Zuhair Murad gown which featured a unique but stylish element–a cape. Her second dress for the reception was also designed by Murad, a pink deep V-neckline which Chanel told Brides "...really appealed to my more girly side." All decor details were also intricately planned such as lots of candlelight, white satin linens, low centerpieces featuring white roses and accents of blush, rose gold chairs and rose gold-printed menus.
Mary Lawless Lee and Madison Lee, 2017

Mary Lawless Lee, the founder of @happilygrey, hosted an intimate Nashville wedding with her husband Madison Lee, back in 2017. The bride wore a stunning Claire Pettibone lace gown which she customized with the help of Nashville couture designer, Karen Hendrix. For her second and third looks, Mary switched into a Pronovias gown for the reception and ended the night in a white jumpsuit by Roksanda. Family and friends who attended the ceremony (35 total!) were also asked to wear all white, matching the airy and earthy theme of the entire day. Mary’s attention to detail was impeccable, down to the cutest little gifts for her flower girls–Polaroid cameras for each girl to capture her own memories throughout the day.
Carly Cushnie and Oscar Cantú, 2017

Carly Cushnie has dressed a few of the most influential people out there (like Michelle Obama, Beyoncé, and Jennifer Lopez...to name a few), so it’s no surprise why her Mexico City nuptials to Oscar Cantú makes our list. Sure, it’s easy to focus on her fashions for the day–like the multiple custom-made dresses she personally designed–but we definitely have to acknowledge the overall magic of the wedding itself. The three-day fiesta started with a rooftop cocktail party, followed by her actual wedding ceremony/reception (which lasted 12 hours total!!), finally ending with a day party. What can we learn from this bride? Have fun and embrace the culture of your wedding destination! "We wanted the wedding to feel very Mexican, to have the energy of the city, and to have the food and the music reflect that," says Carly.
Rocky Barnes and Matthew Cooper, 2018

Fashion influencer Rocky Barnes wed her husband, Matthew Cooper, in a New York meets boho California themed wedding. The bride tapped into her personal style for her three wedding looks–a Reformation slip dress she wore at the rehearsal dinner, a custom Pronovias gown for the ceremony, and a short feathered, custom Pronovias dress for the reception. Another style highlight from her big day: custom boho LoveShackFancy gowns for her five bridesmaids and three flower girls.
Andreea Gaul and Bryan Gaul, 2018

In 2018, beauty blogger and founder of Simply Andreea, Andreea Gaul, married husband Bryan Gaul, after the pair met on...social media! A Twitter DM from Bryan resulted in a whirlwind romance and a beautiful destination wedding. The bride chose to have an elegant, but minimal day, using nature as the backdrop for her nuptials. With the ceremony and venue set on the beach, the ocean water, sand, and blue skies served as décor. Roses, pampas grass, wildflowers, and pieces of fruit were also used for her tablescape during the reception. As for the fashion, Andreea wore three looks: a BHLDN sheath dress with a deep low-cut back, an A-line off-the-shoulder Pronovias gown, and a mermaid-style lace and tulle number by Rita Vinieris Rivini. She also incorporated one unique element into her look–custom Converse Chucks Taylors. "I would highly recommend comfy shoes on the big day," she told Brides, and we certainly agree!

DJs and entrepreneurs Hannah Bronfman and Brendan Fallis exchanged vows in Marrakech, Morocco, celebrated over a period of four days. Hannah donned eight separate dresses throughout the course of her wedding weekend, each look perfectly aligning with the themed events she and Brendan threw for friends and family. A few looks that made an appearance were a custom wedding gown by Vera Wang, a black-and-white jumpsuit by Johanna Ortiz, a hand-beaded Cucculelli Shaheen gown, an Elie Saab gown, and a vintage Chanel couture dress. We also can't forget to mention the jewels she wore from Bulgari, Valentino, and Monique Péan (who created her engagement ring). Hannah didn't hold back when it came to her wedding day looks, but she also made time to focus on her special day. “Right after our ceremony, we went to lunch—just the two of us—off property,” Hannah told Brides. “Everyone told us that the day goes by quickly, so I wanted to maximize it with a morning ceremony and have time for us to have a moment to ourselves.”

Global influencer, Diipa Khosla, grabbed everyone's attention when she married her husband, Oleg Büller, in 2020. The bride hosted a four-day event incorporating both Dutch and Indian wedding traditions, which all took place in Udaipur, India. Diipa wore an Ashi Studio gown (custom-made, of course!) that took over 1,600 hours of craftsmanship by 35 artisans to complete. Khosla told Brides. “Mr. Ashi knew exactly how to translate my fairytale fantasy into a reality, drawing inspiration from several Indian artworks and the Maharaja inspiration, creating an intricately designed bridal gown fit for a princess.” And she definitely looked like royalty!

What does a stylist wear to her own wedding? A pearl-embellished Vera Wang gown, of course! The bride also styled her gown with a custom pearl-encrusted belt by Gudnitz Couture, a cathedral-length veil by Gudnitz Couture, pearl earrings by Celine, an ankle chain by Sophie Bille Brahe, and custom-made Manolo Blahnik heel. Clearly, Pernille Teisbaek, stylist and creative director, went all out for her special day with her husband, Philip Lotko. For brides-to-be looking for classic, modern wedding inspo, Pernille's celebration is the one to follow!

Get ready for your jaws to drop! Feiping Chang, a fashion and lifestyle blogger, made headlines when she revealed her million-dollar wedding to husband Lincoln Li. The couple spent three days with family and friends, in Capri, Italy, with the most glamour and style you can imagine. Feiping wore two stunning Giambattista Valli gowns on the actual wedding day, and a lemon-print dress by Hong Kong designer, Moiselle, for her welcome dinner. Now let's talk about the venue. The couple worked with the Italian government for permission to say "I do" on the cliff of Villa Lysis.

In April 2019, fashion designer Marc Jacobs and his husband, Charly “Char” Defrancesco, said "I do" in front of the most fashionable A-list wedding guests (and reportedly 700 guests in total!). Celebrities who made an appearance were Christy Turlington and Edward Burns, Christina Ricci, Rachel Zoe, Bella and Gigi Hadid, Luka Sabbat, and Chloe Sevigny, Kate Moss, Rita Ora, Lil' Kim, Naomi Campbell, and Emily Ratajkowski, among others. And that's not all. The grooms wore bespoke Huntsman suits and were gifted black onyx penguin pins–gifts from Prada and Miu Miu design director, Fabio Zambernardi. They also had a five-tier wedding cake at their New York City celebration and thanked guests with two-party favors at the end of the evening.

When talking about beautiful beach weddings, Danielle Snyder–co-founder and designer of fashion and accessories brand Dannijo–must absolutely be mentioned. She married her husband Brandon, on Harbour Island in the Bahamas, embracing the aesthetics of an island wedding. The bride wore custom Reem Acra and later slipped into a mini Ashish dress for the party. She also made sure to not skimp on her accessories throughout the day, donning a custom Dannijo headband, earrings and shoes she designed, an oversized straw hat for photos, and Miu Miu sandals.

Stephanie Liu Hjelmeseth, founder of style blog Honey & Silk, got married to Kyle Hjelmeseth in an outdoor Southern California modern wedding. The bride drew inspiration from the South of France, achieving airy European vibes throughout the day. Stephanie wore a two-piece ivory silk gown from Cortana and later changed into a vintage Lanvin cape dress for the reception. While we absolutely loved everything about her wedding, we couldn't get over the small details she planned to make this day her own. Stephanie had a tea bar (a nod to her and Kyle’s favorite past time), a photo booth, and even a tee-pee lounge area–unique touches every bride can do to personalize their big day.
Chloe Wen and Jason Wozniak, 2018

Blogger and YouTuber Chloe Wen held her bohemian-inspired, rustic wedding, the spring of 2018 just outside of Nashville, Tennessee. The bride and her college sweetheart, Jason Wozniak, threw an ethereal event held within a barn, filled with farm tables, fairy lights, hanging garland, white panel drapes, and two gorgeous cakes. What we loved the most was her nod to color. Chloe wasn’t afraid to incorporate different hues of peach, blue, pink, green, cream, and burgundy into her color palette. And the fashion? The bride wore a Sarah Seven gown with a removable organza overskirt.

Arielle Charnas, founder and creative director of Something Navy, exchanged vows with Brandon Charnas in front of a group of family and friends in Miami. Known for her style influence, Arielle did surprise us with one aspect of her bridal fashion. For the ceremony, she worked with Christian Siriano to create a gorgeous, custom gown with a beaded belt and embellished sleeves. But, it was the story behind her second look we didn't expect–a last-minute online order which she tried on for the first time at the wedding! Arielle definitely went the "chill" route when it came to planning her big day. She exclusively told Brides, "I was shocked, but it did me good. Do everything you can to relax! And remember, even if something goes wrong, you just married your best friend. Nothing matters after that!" We agree!
