While most of us will never come close to walking a red carpet (a girl can dream!), brides can now get the next best thing on their wedding day—a bridal look curated by one of the most sought after celebrity stylists in the industry. Micaela Erlanger, stylist to stars like Lupita Nyong'o, Meryl Streep and Diane Kruger, just to name a few, has partnered with innovative bridal retailer Brideside to launch a highly-curated bridal collection and we have the exclusive details.

Beginning in May 2020, brides-to-be will have the chance to shop some of Erlanger's top picks from Brideside's Spring/Summer '20 Ellera wedding dress collection—a.k.a an intimate edit of red carpet-worthy, celebrity stylist-approved wedding day looks. "I picked my four favorite styles that I think really give every type of bride an option," Erlanger explains exclusively to Brides. "I wanted to make sure that I was curating a selection of dresses that would allow women to find the perfect fit for themselves."

The four dresses meet the needs of any bride—whether it's a woman seeking minimalism, elegance, sexiness or drama on her wedding day. There's the trendy and "universally flattering" off-the-shoulder gown with princess seams and criss-cross neckline, the elegant v-neck dress that provides the perfect canvas for accessories, the regal ball gown with layers of organza lace and the figure-hugging frock with illusion lace detail.

It's safe to say that Erlanger is a bonafide expert on all things fit and silhouette (she has dressed hundreds of stars for every red carpet imaginable, after all!), and this curation is just another reason why. "My knowledge of women and shape and fit definitely came into play and was really important to me," she shares. "I have a very diverse range of clientele in Hollywood—all different ages, all different body types, all different sizes, you name it and I picked four dresses that I believe will work for anybody."

I believe that walking down the aisle is the closest thing to walking down the red carpet.

It really was serendipity that brought this exciting, new collaboration into the bridal world. Erlanger, who happens to be a bride-to-be herself, works just mere blocks away from Brideside's Manhattan studio so, after months of walking by the storefront, the partnership truly came at the perfect time. "Having announced my venture into the bridal space and now styling brides and consulting to bridal brands and being a bride myself, it felt so organic to be able to curate a collection of dresses," Erlanger tells Brides. "I believe that walking down the aisle is the closest thing to walking down the red carpet. I now can speak to the bridal consumer like I do a celebrity client."

For Brideside co-founder and CEO Nicole Staple, no one matches the Brideside mission of catering to every kind of bride than Erlanger. "The Brideside bride isn't just one profile of a woman and that's precisely why we created the brand," says Staple. "[Erlanger] embodies one of our most important values: 'come as you are' and recognizes the importance of translating aspiration into something achievable, comfortable and beautiful on your wedding day. She styles so many accomplished, diverse women and understands different bodies, comfort types. She fit right in and understood that we wanted to make beautiful, accessible gowns for everyone."

Erlanger's curation for Brideside is just the first project this duo has in the pipeline. The celebrity stylist will also make appearances at select Brideside events in New York, Chicago and Boston to share coveted styling tips to brides-to-be.

To take that same expertise and apply it to one of the most important moments for women, just makes sense, and we’re thrilled to align with her.

“Micaela is revered in the industry for her ability to ‘wow’ the red carpet. To take that same expertise and apply it to one of the most important moments for women, just makes sense, and we’re thrilled to align with her," adds Staple.

So, if you are coming out of engagement season with a new rock on your finger, we suggest holding off on the wedding dress search until Brideside's newest collection hits its stores this spring. Celebrity-stylist approved looks—especially ones that come from the best in the business—are definitely worth the wait!
