"The number one theme that's been shining through is that '70s influence," says Johnson. "Whether you're getting inspiration from disco fever elements or retro color palettes, everything can be personalized with an Etsy spin." The '70s were all about self-expression, free-spiritedness, and celebrating. Couples are integrating this optimistic vibe into their wedding with details like floral headpieces and, of course, disco balls.

Power Suits

Bride In Pantsuit

We saw plenty of pantsuits on the runway at Bridal Fashion Week, from Lela Rose to Justin Alexander. "It's not only an empowering trend, but it's also bold and statement-making," says Johnson. "For the bride who maybe isn't fully ready to commit to walking down the aisle in a suit, it can certainly still be worn at the rehearsal dinner or reception." If a style icon like Carrie Bradshaw can rock a suit from a vintage shop to her wedding, you certainly can too.

"People want to be inclusive and have every person that means something to them in the wedding," says Johnson. Enter: the "bridesman," the "groomswoman," and the "best pup." According to Etsy, there has been a staggering 171% increase in searches for bridesman items on the platform. As couples move away from tradition, new roles and responsibilities are developing—even for furry family members!

Sustainable Style

Sustainability is an omnipresent topic today. People are becoming increasingly mindful of what they're buying and how it impacts the world around them. "People want to feel good about a purchase," says Johnson. "Shoppers are really paying attention to why they're purchasing something, the meaning it has, and what function it serves." From vintage veils to cufflinks made from recycled metal, sustainable style is the eco-friendly trend that's here to stay.

Vintage Rings

Vintage Ring

According to Etsy, there has been a 20% increase in searches on the platform for vintage wedding rings in the last six months (compared to the same period last year). "You get that heirloom quality that you probably won't find in today's jewelry," says Johnson. "If you are in the market for a vintage ring, you should go into it thinking about what era and style you're looking for." There's also a sustainability factor in buying a vintage ring because you're breathing new life into an existing product.

"In the past few years, we've seen matching bridesmaids robes and T-shirts, and this is an addition to that trend," says Johnson. "It's another thing that gives you an opportunity to capture that special photograph." Couples' jackets can be highly personalized, and you'll find the most variety on Etsy. From hand-painted denim to embroidery, the sky's the limit.

Wellness Favors

Fragrance Diffuser Favors

"Last year was such a great movement in self-care and now couples are putting that influence into favors for their guests," says Johnson. "Not only are these favors functional and something your guests actually want to take away with them, but they're also promoting wellness." They can come in the form of soaps, candles, and even crystals. After a long night of partying and celebrating, wellness favors will undoubtedly come in handy.
