If Lizzie McGuire's Ethan Craft was your childhood crush (and don't lie, he most likely was), the following news might pain you. The actor who played the teen heartthrob, Clayton Snyder, proposed to his girlfriend Allegra Edwards on Thanksgiving and she undoubtedly said yes.
The actor took advantage of the viral "Decade Challenge" on social media to announce the news sharing a photo of the couple in 2009 and in 2019 via Instagram. However, the 2019 recreation looked a little different—particularly because of Edwards' new engagement ring! "2009•2019 Dear Allegra. Some things never change," Snyder captioned his post. "Except, a lot changed, and then it got very similar, but very different, but better, and now, your finger’s a bit heavier. And not just because of all the pecan pie. What a Thanksgiving. I love your laugh. I love your heart. I love your family. I love you. Looking forward to wifing you."
Edwards shared the same set of photos on her Instagram, writing, "2009/2019 I get to grow older with the love of my life, for the rest of my days. 💍 I adore you Clay. Thankful is an understatement."
It appears Snyder proposed with his a simple pear-shaped diamond set on a gold band. Following the announcement, the actor also shared more photos of the couple shortly after their engagement. "A few more moments... A moment shortly after the ask. A moment when she saw my parents were there too. A moment that evening. A moment the day after in Bodega Bay. A moment shortly after that," he wrote on Instagram.
And while Snyder might be officially off the market, there is still hope for Ethan Craft and Lizzie McGuire on screen. Hilary Duff recently shared some details on the upcoming Disney+ revival of Lizzie McGuire during an interview with E! News. “He is hot. He’s very hot,” said the actress referring to Craft. “I’m pretty sure there’s going to be, there’s going to be a thing.”
So while our shot at marrying Ethan Craft is long gone, at least we can live vicariously through Lizzie and Edwards!
