If you haven't heard, actress Emma Stone is the latest celebrity to get engaged this year. Her fiancé, Saturday Night Live writer Dave McCary, proposed earlier this week and now we're spilling all the details on her unexpected, unique and most importantly, affordable ring!
Instead of a shimmering diamond, a large, luminescent pearl takes center stage on Stone's engagement ring. Designed by jeweler Yoshinobu Kataoka, the Ayoka pearl is set in a diamond halo and rests on a diamond milgrain platinum band. The stunning ring, which is called Pearl Snowflake Ring-Supreme, starts at $4,780 and can be set in 18k beige or rose gold as well.
According to People, McCary purchased the ring at NYC-based jewelry store Catbird. And while a $4,780 price-tag is definitely not pocket change, it's actually less than the average amount Americans spent on engagement rings in 2018, which was $7,829. Stone's beautiful new accessory is also significantly less than what major celebrity couples dropped on rings this year (remember J Lo.'s million-dollar emerald cut diamond?).
It was McCary that revealed the engagement news on Instagram on Wednesday by posting a selfie of the pair showing off Stone's new bling. There's no denying that newly-engaged glow suits Stone and her fiancé perfectly! And, the engagement comes just in time for awards season. We think this unique engagement ring is the ultimate red carpet accessory.
