Eminem’s Daughter Hailie Jade Is Engaged to Evan McClintock

From “Hailie’s Song” to “Mockingbird,” Eminem would frequently rap about his daughter, Hailie Jade (full name Hailie Jade Scott Mathers), in many of his 1990s and 2000s hits. In fact, the Academy Award-winning rapper has mentioned Hailie in more than 20 of his songs and credits his little girl as the one who helped him become a better person. Now, the artist’s daughter is getting ready to tie the knot. On Monday, February 6, 2023, Hailie announced her engagement to boyfriend Evan McClintock. “casual weekend recap… 😭💗,” her caption says. “2.4.23 💍 i love you @evanmcclintock11.” 

The Just a Little Shady podcast host documented her engagement on Instagram with a carousel of photos from the proposal. In the first image, Hailie and her fiancé are laughing while trying to pop open a bottle of champagne. The second photo shows McClintock down on one knee, holding the sparkler in front of Hailey, who shares her surprised reaction. In the last slide, Hailey is holding a glass of Champagne, and the snap focuses on her new ring, which appears to be an oval-cut diamond on a gold band. 

Many of the couple’s friends and family members shared congratulatory messages in the comments section. “You’re all grown up 🥹,” Aly and AJ Michalka write. “congrats Hailie! ❤️😍.” Hailie’s adopted sister Alaina Scott also expressed her love. “😭😭😭 couldn't be happier for the two of you🍾,” her comment says. “can't wait do this chapter of life with you guys❤️.” Singer-songwriter Skylar Grey shared, “Omg congrats!!!! 🖤🥹.”

According to Daily Mail, Hailie and McClintock first met as students at Michigan State University, and they have been dating since 2016. The social media star doesn’t often post photos of McClintock, but the last snap she shared with her Instagram followers was an image of the two of them kissing at sunset on February 15, 2022. She also added the caption, “yesterday & everyday 💖.” 

In an interview with Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson in 2020, Eminem—who shares Hailie with ex-wife Kim Scott—opened up about his daughter’s partnership with McClintock. “No babies—just a boyfriend,” he said about his daughter’s love life. “She’s doing good. She’s made me proud for sure.”

Eminem has a special relationship with his daughter. During an interview with Q in 2001, the rapper said Hailie was “a real wakeup call” for him. “She made me get my ass in gear, to make something of my life and try 10 quadrillion times harder than I had before,” he admitted. “Everything that I am doing right now is for Hailie. The money, it’s for her college.” Hailie went on to graduate Michigan State University with a psychology degree and a 3.9 GPA, according to People. Hailie has also supported her dad throughout his musical career, frequently celebrating his accomplishments. She even attended the 37th annual Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony on November 5, 2022 when Eminem was inducted.
