Over a span of four days, the Brides team collectively traveled across New York City to meet with more than 50 bridal brands and designers. Why? To personally view the latest collections presented during New York Bridal Fashion Week. It was certainly a marathon, but one that was worth the effort in the end.
We're always amazed by the labor of love that goes into the design and construction of a wedding dress, and our admiration only grows after each market season. What's more, after viewing hundreds of dresses firsthand, we definitely have a few looks that are ingrained in our minds—gowns we can't stop thinking about since Bridal Fashion Week has ended.
So ahead, here's a list of our top picks from the Fall 2023 collections.
"Oh, how I love this Dana Harel gown. The sweetheart neckline, the flowy skirt, the train—every detail is truly the epitome of sexy elegance all wrapped up in one look. If I were a 2024 bride, this would be it for me, hands down!" - Samantha Netkin Brash, Assistant General Manager
"I had the pleasure of viewing Theia's Fall 2023 collection in person, and the 'Sparrow' gown instantly caught my eye. The sheath silhouette drapes so elegantly across the body, and the pearl-embroidered top gives the gown a subtle sparkle. With chic cut-outs and luxe crepe fabric, this dress feels contemporary yet timeless." - Lilly Blomquist, Editorial Assistant
Houghton by Katharine Polk
"Houghton by Katharine Polk is my new favorite cool-girl bridal brand. Her newest collection pushed the boundaries of what we typically describe as bridal fashion; from the smooth latex fabrics to the daring silhouettes, with the 'Freya' dress fitting the latter. With its figure-hugging stretch crepe fabric, bold cut-outs (made a popular style for weddings by Kendall Jenner's infamous multi-cutout black gown), and sparkly embellishments, it has bachelorette party written all over it. It's available in black with pin embellishments or white with heart embellishments—just choose your fighter!" - Araziel Jackson, Associate Social Media Editor
"There's something so timeless and beautiful about a slip dress, and they're perfect for just about any style of wedding. I love that this one has been updated with a cowl back, which is guaranteed to make heads turn as the bride walks down the aisle." - Gabriella Rello Duffy, Editorial Director
"Give me a high-neck, long-sleeve, sheer lace bridal moment any day! There is something so elegant and traditional, yet modern and sexy about this dress from Julie Vino. The attention to detail, with the buttons on the bodice and flared sleeves, add extra dimension and makes this look so special." - Corinne Pierre-Louis, Editor
Ines Di Santo
"Ines Di Santo has always been my favorite designer and her collection this season did not disappoint. I can't get over this strapless number which is giving glamorous 1920s vibes, thanks to stunning, intricate beading in distinctly Art Deco patterns." - Ellie Nan Storck, Senior Editor
"I'm always on the lookout for a great afterparty look and this design by Scorcesa definitely made me do a double take. Perfect for dancing the night away at a warm destination wedding, this two-piece set is modern, sexy, and just waiting to be photographed." - Shelby Wax, Senior Editor
"No matter what collection Amsale launches, it never disappoints. My favorite dress from the Fall 2023 line is the 'Marley' dress, a strapless ball gown. The A-line cut and ruched detailing make the gown such a flattering choice for any bride. The thigh-high slit and asymmetrical neckline give the sophisticated ensemble a dramatic flair that's guaranteed to turn heads. Safe to say, I'm hooked!" - Lilly Blomquist, Editorial Assistant
Houghton by Katherine Polk
"When I originally saw Houghton's Season 3 collection in person, I was in awe of Katherine Polk's creativity and innovation when it came to bridalwear. But I got swept away when she introduced me to the 'Khloe' dress in latex. Though this look isn't for everyone, I would absolutely include it in my personal wardrobe" - Corinne Pierre-Louis, Editor
"I've never seen floral embroidery that I don't absolutely love, and the detailing on this high-low wedding dress is no exception. It's such a fun look for a casual daytime wedding or as a second dress option for a reception." - Gabriella Rello Duffy, Editorial Director
"The 'Emery' gown in Jenny Yoo's newest collection is another favorite. I love the slip-style cut, the high leg slit, and the silk material. It's simple yet makes a statement, with that chic square neckline and the train." - Ellie Nan Storck, Senior Editor
"I saw Monique Lhuillier's new collection in person and actually gasped when I saw this gown. The stunning floral embroidery brings so much romance to the dress. But, what sets the design apart and truly makes it feel fashion-forward is how the appliqués make their way down to the fingers of the gloves. It's all in the details!" - Shelby Wax, Senior Editor
"Dubbed the bridal backpack by Kate Halfpenny herself, the 'Ra-Ra' cape will make a statement when paired with any dress. Take notes from the above styling and pair it with their 'Evetta' dress, to add a wow factor to a mini for a two-in-one wedding day look!" - Araziel Jackson, Associate Social Media Editor
"When you think of the Dana Harel brand, what comes to mind is contemporary, chic, and intentional, everything this gown embodies. I love the exposed boning in the corset bodice, the sultry thigh-high slit, the simplistic embroidered fabric design, and the pin-thin straps. A lovely gown for a bride with fashion-forward aesthetics." - Corinne Pierre-Louis, Editor
