"If you know me, you know how much I love a lavish wedding cake. Give me intricate details, buttercream flowers, and show-stopping height! Lately, I've been into retro styles, one of my favorite emerging wedding trends of 2021, and you really can't beat this gorgeous confection from Grace Kelly and Prince Rainier's nuptials. This all-white cake—a gift from the pastry chefs at Monte Carlo's Hotel de Paris—features a pair of live turtledoves (wow), an epic cake-slicing ceremony in which Prince Rainier used a sword (yes, really), and six tiers of baked perfection. It doesn't get more over-the-top."

Princess Beatrice's Vintage Wedding Dress

"Princess Beatrice's intimate nuptials might not have been the most opulent royal wedding, but it's still one of my favorites. After postponing her original plans due to the pandemic, the princess married her fiancé Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi during a secret ceremony filled with sentimental touches. My favorite detail, however, was Beatrice's vintage Norman Hartnell dress, which served as her "something old"—she borrowed the ornate gown from her grandmother Queen Elizabeth's collection. Not only was the dress absolutely stunning, but I also loved how Beatrice found ways to incorporate tradition into her nontraditional pandemic wedding."

"I love the fact that a royal beat her own face the morning of her wedding. It's true that no one knows your features as well as you do, and sometimes it's better to just stick with what you know, especially on a day that's as photographed as your wedding day. To prepare for the moment, Kate consulted with makeup artist Hannah Martin to create a grey smokey eye and beautifully saturated pink blush look using Bobbi Brown products, one of her favorite cosmetic brands. While I have immense respect for the craft of makeup artistry, I also chose to do my own wedding makeup after never being fully satisfied with how I looked at the hands of another artist (I'm picky, I know!) and love that she forwent a splashy glam team on such a historical day, choosing instead to do what felt the most comfortable."
