Dylan Sprouse and Barbara Palvin might be hearing wedding bells very soon! A source confirmed to Entertainment Tonight that the couple is officially engaged. The Suite Life of Zack and Cody actor and model have been an item for five years and are reportedly taking the next step in their relationship. “Dylan and Barbara are engaged," the source revealed to ET. "They have been showing off her ring to people and are so happy. They’re always very in love with one another and by each other’s sides, but they’re even happier than usual. They can't wait to start this new chapter together."
Engagement rumors were first sparked in early March when Sprouse and Palvin went to the Mammoth Film Festival. Attendees noticed a diamond ring on the model's left ring finger and rumors quickly spread that the couple have made plans to tie the knot. The source told ET, "Barbara and Dylan seemed so happy and comfortable together all weekend during Mammoth Film Festival. Dylan let her do her thing at events and she was in a great mood. Barbara was a social butterfly and bopped around and talked to different people. They would make sure to check in with each other while they were out and spend time just the two of them too. When they were together, it was clear they were very in love."
The celebrity couple met back in 2017 at a Harper's Bazaar party. "I cracked jokes, she cracked jokes, and we clicked," Sprouse told Page Six of their first encounter. Following the event, Sprouse messaged Palvin over Instagram DM. "She followed me, so I was like, I guess I'll give her something. And I slid into her DMs," the groom-to-be told W Magazine. "I was like, 'Hey, I don't know if you're in New York for very long, but we should hang out if you want to. Here's my number.' And she didn't message me for six months."
Finally, the Hungarian model decided to give him a chance and flew to China to meet him for a first date. "I kind of flew to China to see him, just after talking for three months,” the supermodel later told People. "I was supposed to work in China, and then they canceled the job. I was like, ‘Do you think that’s crazy that I still want to go and see you?’, cause I was so excited.” The pair made it official in June 2018.

Over the years of their relationship, the couple constantly showed support for each other. Sprouse went viral when he gave Palvin a standing ovation with his hand over his heart as she walked down the runway of the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in 2018, and the model was a constant fixture in the actor's photography work. By 2019, the couple moved into a Brooklyn apartment together. “We moved in we only had four mental breakdowns!” Sprouse reportedly joked in a now-deleted photo of himself and Palvin.
Sprouse opened up about their relationship when the couple after the couple quarantined together in 2020. "What we’ve come out noticing is that we’re super compatible. It’s like we know when to give each other space. We know when the other needs space. We’ve already divided labor around the house in certain ways," he explained to ET. "There’s things we do in the morning, there’s things we do at night. So, I think our relationship... is stronger than ever."
