Actress Cressida Bonas, who previously dated Prince Harry for two years, has announced her engagement to longtime boyfriend Harry Wentworth-Stanley. The couple posted a sweet photo on Instagram, revealing that Wentworth-Stanley had popped the question—and that Bonas had said yes.
Wentworth-Stanley shared a shot of the couple together in Nantucket, captioning it, "We getting married." The picture gives fans a glimpse at Bonas's ring, which seems to be an Art Deco target design, according to Vogue. The distinctive piece of jewelry features a center diamond surrounded by a halo of rubies and a second round of smaller diamonds.
Bonas and Wentworth-Stanley had previously dated when they were students at the University of Leeds. However, after their split, Bonas's close friend Princess Eugenie reportedly introduced her to Prince Harry, and they got together for a high-profile romance that ran until 2015. Some time later, Bonas was seen holding hands with Wentworth-Stanley again, sparking rumors that the two had reconciled and gotten back together.
While they've been dating for a few years now, Bonas has spoken about how she's still pigeonholed as "Prince Harry's ex."
"It's incredibly frustrating, especially in the industry that I'm in," she told Woman's Hour back in 2017. "But you know, it is the way it is. It's about making a stand and saying, 'No, this is who I am and this is what I want to do.'"
Still, Bonas has signaled that she and Prince Harry are on good terms. They reportedly broke up amicably—she even attended his wedding to Meghan Markle last year. Now, it's her turn to celebrate, and already, people have left her excited messages about the engagement. "So wonderful," Kate Middleton's younger brother James Middleton commented on the Instagram post, alongside hundreds of other happy notes of congratulations.
