Wedding bells are in Jordan Harvey’s future. The country singer-songwriter proposed to girlfriend Madison Fendley on Sunday, December 18, 2022, at Dundas Castle in Scotland, according to People. After two years together, Harvey says popping the question was a no-brainer. “Life has changed significantly for the better,” the musician tells the outlet. “I couldn’t imagine doing life without Madison, and every day she makes me a better person. I’m excited for our next chapter of life together.”
Although the “I Will" singer says he usually makes decisions on a whim, he decided to adopt the opposite approach when popping the question. “I made sure that I planned everything out, down to the finest details, and I am so glad that I did because this is a moment neither of us will ever forget,” he shares. The new method ended up working in his favor because everything went according to plan—even the weather cooperated despite storm clouds brewing.
Before getting down on one knee, the country star and photographer John Mackie spent an hour scanning the property to nail down the perfect spot, People reports. Then, Harvey picked up his girlfriend and drove her to the castle. Once they arrived onsite, the “Alabama Girl” singer pointed out that there was a photographer taking shots for a Christmas calendar, but of course, he was actually there to snap photos of the upcoming engagement. “As we got closer, I said to John, ‘Sorry mate, do you mind if we walk in front of the camera?’” Harvey recounts. “That’s when I took Madison’s hand and dropped to one knee.”
After Harvey asked the ultimate question, the professional dancer and choreographer was in shock. “I was at a total loss for words,” she remembers. “After I said yes, I felt an immense sense of happiness, peace, and gratitude and still haven’t stopped smiling.” To celebrate the milestone, the newly engaged couple enjoyed a glass of champagne and a shot of Scotch whisky at Harvey's house afterwards.
Harvey proposed with a diamond sparkler, which he actually bought nine months before asking Fendley to take his hand in marriage, according to People. The singer says he wanted to wait until the right moment to make it official.
When the country singer met the dancer in 2020, it was love at first sight. “I knew from our very first date that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her,” he says. The feeling was mutual—Fendley also felt the same connection. “After the first conversation I had with Jordan, I said, ‘That guy is going to be my new best friend,’” she recalls. “What I didn’t know is that on top of that, he would become the love of my life. I knew very early on that I wanted to marry him, but I wanted to take the time to build a strong foundation before getting engaged. Each and every day, he gives me a glimpse of what our future will look like together and makes me feel so loved, desired, respected, and supported. I truly am looking forward to tackling life with my best friend!"
