Allison Moir-Smith has been a premarital counselor since 2002, which is when she founded Emotionally Engaged to help couples feel better equipped at managing their emotions. She is also the author of Emotionally Engaged: A Bride’s Guide to Surviving the “Happiest” Time of Her Life, which she published in 2006, and she's the creator of the video series How to Be a Happier Bride-to-Be. Additionally, Allison is a freelance writer who has been contributing to Brides since 2014.

Education

Allison received her bachelor’s degree in English literature from Dartmouth College in 1989. She went on to obtain her master’s degree in counseling psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute in 2001.
