One happy bride and groom's special day was just made even more exciting when Academy Award winner Denzel Washington photobombed their wedding pictures. The star was filming Journal for Jordan in Central Park where he spotted the couple in their wedding-day attire. The Fences star surprised the couple my jumping in a few of their shots. And, Washington is in some good company. From Dwyane Wade photo bombing a proposal on the beach to Robert Pattinson jumping in for a selfie, celebrities love surprising lovebirds on their special day.
Speaking of crashing weddings, the OG wedding crashers, Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson are also in talks about a Wedding Crashers sequel! In a recent interview, Vaughn told Entertainment Tonight that the former Crashers have been talking about a sequel to the 2005 film-turned-classic. "Owen and I and the director of Crashers have been talking for the first time seriously [about] a sequel to that movie," Vaughn said. "So there has been an idea that is pretty good. So we are talking about that in the early stages."
It's been 15 years since the duo played the infamous divorce lawyers who crashed weddings for fun—and hopefully, we won't have to wait much longer for the reprise of their roles. Believe it or not, a great deal of celebrities have actually followed in the steps of the fictional characters and crashed weddings (engagements too) making real-life couples’ big days that much more special. A lot of them even stayed for pictures and impromptu performances and speeches!

Keanu Reeves
When James and Nikki Roadnight tied the knot at Fawsley Hall Hotel in Northamptonshire, England in August 2022, they weren’t expecting Keanu Reeves to make an appearance. According to Newsweek, the groom spotted the Matrix star in the hotel bar, so he invited the actor to their reception. “He was very friendly and said he would [come] later on,” Nikki told the publication. “We didn’t know if he would or not, but it was cool that my husband had spoken to him.”
Sure enough, a hotel staff member alerted the couple that a “very special guest” had made it. “It was all very exciting,” the bride gushed. “I went to say hi and introduce myself. I offered him a drink, but he declined that and said he’d just had a long flight, so he wouldn’t stay long. But it was so kind and friendly.”
Tom Hanks
Tom Hanks just gave a Pittsburgh bride the best wedding present she could have asked for! The Forrest Gump actor joined bride Grace Gwaltney and her bridal party while they were taking photos outside of the Fairmont Hotel in Pittsburgh on Saturday before her wedding ceremony. “He was like, ‘Hey! I’m Tom Hanks. I would love to get a photo with you,’ and I immediately froze and was just looking around,” Gwaltney described to KCRA. “I didn’t know what to do.” She continued, “He was like, ‘You look so beautiful. I’m so happy for you.’”
The bride’s wedding photographer, Rachel Rowland, said the Cast Away star’s appearance surprised everyone. “We all lost it,” Rowland told KCRA. “The bridesmaids shuffled out of the limo, and he posed for photos and congratulated everyone, and just as fast as he popped in, he was gone. It was so sweet and fun!”
Once Gwaltney finally made it to the ceremony site at Carnegie Music Hall, she almost forgot to tell the groom, Luke. During a private moment before the ceremony, while they were holding hands with their backs to one another, she revealed, “Luke, I just met Tom Hanks. I had to sneak that in there.”
Denzel Washington

While directing his upcoming film Journal for Jordan (starring Michael B. Jordan) in Central Park, the Oscar-winning actor spotted a bride and groom taking their wedding photos. And he decided to jump in for a few, much to the couple's surprise. They were all smiles as they capture the memory that they surely won't be forgetting.
Jordan was busy filming a romantic scene with co-star Chante Adams, so he didn't jump in the pictures unfortunately for the couple, we'd imagine particularly the bride. Well, then again, maybe this was actually fortunate for the groom, as not to tempt his new bride. (Come on, it's the Michael B. Jordan.)

In 2016 a just-married couple was taking their wedding photos in Central Park when Tom Hanks spotted them. Hanks congratulated the couple and took a selfie, which he posted to Twitter with the caption, “Elizabeth and Ryan! Congrats and Blessings. Hanx.”
Serena Williams
While enjoying a beach day in Miami back in 2014, Serena Williams came across a couple’s nuptials. Williams jumped in for a picture in a cheetah-printed swimsuit and shared on Instagram with a post captioned, “Wedding crasher!! Congrats!”
Katy Perry
While traveling on her Witness tour, Katy Perry made an appearance at Hayley Rosenblum and Blonie Dudney’s wedding reception in St. Louis, Missouri. The “Hot N Cold” singer joined other guests on the dance floor and hung out for about 10 minutes, according to the Kansas City Star. Before leaving, the pop star jumped in a photo with the bride and groom. The wedding photographer Ray Prop shared the exchange on Instagram with the caption, “‘Do you mind if we crash your wedding?’ Katy Perry”
Bradley Cooper
The Wedding Crashers star put all of his knowledge on the subject to the test when he dropped in to congratulate a bride and groom getting married at his alma mater, Georgetown University in Washington D.C. The couple’s wedding photographer Lisa Boggs shared a photo on Instagram of the two walking around campus with Cooper. “Here’s a sneak peek from Meg and Nick’s private ceremony this past weekend,” she wrote. “Their friend, Bradley Cooper, was visiting Georgetown and made sure to congratulate the newlyweds as they walked around campus.”
Ed Sheeran
The “Thinking Out Loud” singer surprised an Australian couple by showing up to their nuptials and performing. Sheeran posted a photo with the couple to his Instagram writing, “Just surprised this lovely couples first dance. Available weddings, birthdays, bar mitzvah’s contact, your local supermarket for details.”
Beyoncé and Jay-Z
While vacationing in Portofino, Italy, the mega stars came across a wedding at a local church they were visiting. They took time to congratulate the couple, and Beyoncé even posed for a photo with the bride.

While in Dublin, Ireland for press, the Trainwreck co-workers Schumer and Apatow found Eithne McAdam and J.P. Swaine at a bar after their wedding ceremony. The director and actress joined the couple for a few Guinnesses in celebration of their marriage. Sláinte!

While in Montreal shooting the Netflix film Murder Mystery, Sandler saw a bride and groom taking some wedding photos on a terrace of the Le Monte Stephen hotel, where he was having dinner with his family. The Fifty First Dates star went over to the couple to photobomb and give them his well wishes. The couple’s photographer captured the meeting and posted to Instagram writing, “About last Sunday … My bride & groom bumped into @adamsandler, and that was amazing. Everything can happen in #Montreal!”

At the Currumbin Beach Vikings Surf Life Saving Club in the Gold Coast in Australia, newlyweds Katie and Shane were grabbing drinks after their ceremony when they spotted Hemsworth from across the room. The Hunger Games actor was happy to congratulate the couple and pose for a few photos. The couple’s photographer Kirk Willcox told E! News, "It definitely made the couple's entire wedding day. Liam wished them all the best and continued having a relaxing evening by the beach."

One very dedicated boyfriend reached out to One Direction via Twitter to see if they would help him propose to his girlfriend. After his Tweet went viral, bandmember Harry Styles noticed and agreed to help. During the concert, Styles announced Brad had a question, and the Jumbotron caught the whole moment.
