Is 2020 the year of wearing wedding gowns on the red carpet? Camila Morrone sure thinks so. The model (and girlfriend of Leonardo DiCaprio, nbd) just wore a Carolina Herrera wedding dress to the Oscars and we are living for it.
Morrone's stylist Micah Schifman told InStyle that the actress wanted a look reminiscent of Grace Kelly and when the pair saw the Carolina Herrera gown, they knew it was perfect for Hollywood's biggest night. "We reached out and said 'Hey, we love this gown…but we don’t need it for a wedding. If we could kind of shift it around, make some changes…’ And Wes [Gordon, the brand's Creative Director], was super into it," shared Schifman, per InStyle.
The final look was this stunning strapless blush creation, featuring a corset bodice and exposed boning. While the gown was transformed to fit on the runway, we still picture the new design on the aisle, too!
When it came to accessories, Morrone kept things simple, wearing a silver necklace and natural hair. But perhaps the craziest part of her gorgeous look is how quickly it came together. Schifman shared the gown was made in less than a week, saying, "I don’t think [the Carolina Herrera team] started building the dress until four or five days ago, because they have their show tomorrow in New York City, so they’re a little busy with that."
Even though Morrone and DiCaprio have been together since 2017, tonight's award show marks their first public appearance as a couple. One thing is for sure, we know Morrone will make one beautiful bride and if tonight's fashion choice is any indication, perhaps that moment will come sooner than we think!
