Country singers Blake Shelton and Trace Adkins have a long history of friendship, having collaborated on music and performed together in the past. But the duo took their friendship one step further when Adkins asked Shelton to officiate his wedding on Saturday.
Adkins married Canadian actress Victoria Pratt over the weekend during a romantic ceremony in New Orleans, Louisiana. The couple chose Maison Montegut, and event space in the city's French Quarter as the backdrop for their nuptials. They exchanged vows in an outdoor courtyard surrounded by lush greenery, blush-toned flowers and hanging rattan lanterns. Of course, Shelton had the honors of overseeing the vows and announcing the couple Mr. and Mrs. Adkins!
Trace Adkins' official Instagram account shared a photo of the ceremony, which shows the bride and groom, along with Shelton, smiling and laughing. "Join us in congratulating Trace & Victoria! They tied the knot yesterday in New Orleans," read the caption.
The bride wore a strapless white gown with a tulle skirt and held a bouquet of red, pink and white flowers. Adkins kept things country-casual, opting for a black suit jacket, grey denim pants and black cowboy hat.
Adkins might have the opportunity to return the favor for Shelton in the future. The Voice judge has been dating singer Gwen Stefani since 2015, with fans rooting for an engagement ever since. But if wedding bells do ever ring for the musically-talented couple, Adkins might have some competition when it comes to officiating since fellow country music star Luke Bryan already offered his services to the couple.
