Whether you’re looking for a thoughtful gift for your wife-to-be on her wedding day or picking out something for a close friend, it can be a dizzying affair to scout the internet for the best personalized gifts. We always go gaga for a good monogram. Ditto for photo art and gifts emblazoned with a couple’s wedding date. Thankfully, we did the grunt work for you, scouring the web for the absolute top picks on the market.
So why go personalized? “A personalized gift is thoughtful and shows the person you are gifting that you appreciate them and took the time to think outside of buying from their registry,” says Lia Bancroft, of Lia Bancroft Events in Boston, Massachusetts. “A registry gift is always appreciated since the couple hand-picked the items they need or desire, but a personalized gift will be more sentimental and act as a keepsake or heirloom,” she continues, adding you can always include a smaller item from their registry along with your personalized gift to cover your bases. To help, we rounded up our favorite personalized, monogrammed, or otherwise one-of-a-kind presents that will make her swoon.

What to Look For In Personalized Gifts for Women
When thinking outside the box for wedding gifts or seeking the perfect wedding-day surprise for your future wife, certain strategies can help you choose wisely. “There are a lot of personalization options available to us, so when purchasing a personalized gift, it is important to keep both the couple's interests and quality in mind.
Something they wouldn’t buy for themselves
Jewelry, accessories, and homeware are all categories that recipients appreciate receiving, where most people do not buy these for themselves,” says Bancroft.
Go for quality
“It is also important to stick to trustworthy brands where you know the jewelry won't tarnish or a custom wine glass will not crack in the dishwasher,” advises Bancroft.
When do you give the bride a gift?
Bancroft says there are three great opportunities to gift a piece of jewelry or an accessory that might be nice for the bride to have or wear on her rehearsal dinner or wedding day. “The first is during her bridal shower. It would be a nice sentiment, and you can pair it with a smaller item from her registry. The second is her bachelorette party. This is a delightful way to start the weekend on a high note,” she says.
Last but not least, the third opportunity, says Bancroft, is on any given girls night with just the two of you before the wedding where you can show how important your friend is and this milestone in her life is to you. If you’re the bride’s significant other toting wedding day baubles, give the gift to your wedding planner or trusted friend or family member who is getting ready with the bride so they can give it to her.
When should you order personalized gifts?
“Be sure to order a personalized product in advance as these take longer to make,” cautions Bancroft. Timelines for production of personalized gifts run the gamut from a day to several weeks, so be sure to check the fine print before placing your order and allotting enough time. Another savvy tip: “When ordering a personalized gift, do your research and read reviews,” says Bancroft. “Quality and durability should be evaluated.”
