Best Flower Subscriptions of 2022
Bet Overall: Bouqs
Why We Chose It: Bouqs is available for delivery everywhere, is perfect for gifting, and has a focus on sustainability.
- Multiple options for subscription services, ranging from original to deluxe
- Bouqs focuses on sustainable flower farming practices
- Orders ship everywhere, making it perfect for gifting
- Deliveries are flexible and subscribers can send bouquets to different people
- Doesn’t ship internationally yet
Founded in 2012, Bouqs was started by brand executive John Tabis and his former college roommate, third-generation farmer Juan Pablo Montúfar. By partnering with farmers who focus on using sustainable practices to cut out the middlemen, the company minimizes waste and recycles water. Here, flowers are cut-to-order, which means that they stay fresher for longer and subscribers save money.
Subscriptions are flexible and there are three different options: The original plan (10 to 16 stems) is around $40; the deluxe (20 to 32 stems) is about $52; and the grand plan (30 to 45 stems) is roughly $65.
You can customize the delivery date, size, and even recipient for each order, so some shipments can be given as gifts (perhaps to bridesmaids). It’s also easy to skip an order or cancel. You can also customize how frequently flowers come, choosing from weekly, biweekly, monthly, and bi-monthly deliveries.
Best for Glam Arrangements: AVS Flowers
Why We Chose It: AVS Flowers is one of the most luxurious options, started by a floral design and event planning company in New York.
- Glamorous bouquet options from a wedding floral designer
- Subscribers can design specialty boxes with the company founder
- Stunning Instagram page to keep up with arrangement options
- Prices range from about $95 to $150, making it one of the more expensive options
À Votre Service Events began as a luxury floral design and event planning company in New York back in 2008 but has since branched out into delivering flowers. That pivot by founder Marie Danielle is now known as AVS Flowers, which ships throughout the United States.
Marie crafts arrangements that last much longer than usual because of how she sources stems and cares for them during the bouquets' creation. She personally drives some of her local deliveries to customers to give them tips on how to make their arrangements last longer. Additionally, Marie also offers flower crowns and virtual floral design workshops.
The standard subscription for weekly deliveries starts at about $95; the deluxe is around $125; and premium delivery begins at approximately $150. The flowers arrive arranged and are hand-delivered. While floral selections vary depending on weather, seasonality, and market conditions, florists select options based on your input; and if there has to be a substitution, they will make sure the style, theme, and color is the same and only substitute for stems of equal or higher value.
AVS Flowers also offers biweekly and monthly delivery, and shipments vary based on the seasonality of flowers. Subscribers can treat themselves or order for someone else. Even better? There are also special boxes shipped throughout the year that subscribers get to design with Marie herself.
Best for Customization: 1-800-Flowers.com
Why We Chose It: 1-800-Flowers.com is one of the most mainstream flower delivery services, famous for its seamless shipments and customizable subscription options.
- Choose from different types of blooms, including roses, mixed, and seasonal
- Subscription is easy to cancel online
- More traditional bouquets than smaller start-ups
1-800-Flowers was founded in 1986 by Jim McCann in Manhattan when he bought a flower shop near where he was bartending. That small, local shop is now a billion-dollar business that provides flower subscriptions and gourmet food deliveries.
The company offers several different bouquet subscription services. Monthly options range from the One of a Kind Rose Bouquet which starts around $60 (choose from 12 to 24 stems), the One of a Kind Mixed Bouquet for about $40, and the Seasonal Bouquet, starting at approximately $40. If you’re looking for something a little different, try the Growers Choice House Plant to get a different plant monthly for about $45 per month.
From there, you can choose bouquet sizes between premium, deluxe, extra-large, large, medium, and small, with the prices ranging from about $42 for small to around $84 for premium, depending on the type of flowers. Bouquets arrive arranged in a glass vase, and colors and varieties vary depending on local availability. You can order once or make it a recurring delivery. You can also choose even more specific color options, which is great if you’re figuring out wedding colors. Opt for rose or lavender, for example, and then choose the subscription option to get monthly arrangements.
Once you choose flowers and schedule your delivery, all subsequent deliveries will arrive 30 days after activating your subscription. The subscription will then be renewed monthly.
Best for Gifting: Olive & Cocoa
Why We Chose It: Olive & Cocoa is famous for its gifting options, including pre-arranged, super fresh bouquets that come in a beautiful wooden box and last for a long time.
- Flowers come completely arranged so recipients don’t have to do anything
- Arrangements come in handcrafted wooden vases
- Good value for the price, as arrangements have a retail value of about $98
- Arrangements last for a long time because of how they are packaged
- Card is charged 10 days prior to your delivery, so keep track if you want to cancel
- Shipping and handling is extra
Olive & Cocoa began in Salt Lake City, Utah, in 2009, when it was founded by husband and wife marketing team Greg and Lisa Berglund. Since then, the company has focused on offering unique gifts, including floral arrangements inside of handcrafted wooden boxes.
The Floral of the Month Club from Olive & Cocoa provides monthly shipments that are gorgeous and last for a long time because of the company's innovative techniques. The bouquets are fresh and resemble a Pinterest farmhouse chic dream, making them a bit more interesting than some of the legacy floral brands. Florals arrive pre-arranged and in a vase, so you don’t have to arrange and can simply set them out immediately.
Olive & Cocoa's arrangements have a retail value of about $98 but are discounted for subscribers based on how often your shipments come. Even better? They can be sent to your own home or as a gift. To join the club, simply choose your membership length. You can get four shipments for about $88 each, six for $84, 12 for approximately $78 each, or ongoing deliveries for around $74 each.
Best for Self-Care: Matilda’s Bloombox
Why We Chose It: Matilda’s Bloombox is focused on supporting local farmers and uses its flower subscription to promote self-care.
- Supports local farmers in California
- Promotes floral arrangement delivery as a form of self-care
- Easy to schedule deliveries whenever you want
- Only available in the Bay Area, Napa, Sonoma, and Austin, Texas (as of March 2022)
- Not technically a subscription service, so remember to schedule regular deliveries
A San Francisco-based business, Matilda's Bloombox was helmed by husband-and-wife team Matt and Emily Boschetto. Because Matt’s from San Francisco and his great-grandparents were Bay Area flower farmers, the couple’s business is also committed to supporting local farmers. And, Bloombox is meant to promote floral arrangements as self-care, as opposed to as a gifting opportunity.
Matilda's Bloombox buys all of its flowers from farmers in California. Arrangements vary weekly, so Matilda’s Bloombox is able to buy thousands of different stems. Recent deliveries included Peony, Leucadendron, and Bush Ivy from Bay Area growers, as well as Hawaiian Hearts, Palm leaves, and Monstera leaves from Hawaii.
Matilda's Bloombox delivers to customers in the Bay Area, as well as Austin, Texas. Customers pay about $39 including delivery for an arrangement.
Matilda’s Bloombox isn’t technically a subscription service. Instead, you create an account, select delivery dates, and then pay when the flowers are sent.
These floral delivery subscription services provide something for everyone, whether you’re looking to send gifts to friends, want an inexpensive option for yourself, or simply want traditional flowers on your dining room table daily.
Bouqs offers beautiful, sustainable bouquets with seamless delivery options, either for yourself or to send as gifts. AVS Flowers is ideal if you’re wedding planning and want to see the types of glamorous bouquets a New York-based designer can create. 1-800-Flowers.com is great for traditional bouquets. Olive & Cocoa is ideal for gifting your bridesmaids because the bouquets come arranged in a beautiful handcrafted box and last for a long time. And Matilda’s Bloombox is perfect if you want to treat yourself to a little bit of self-care and support local flower farmers in California.

How We Chose The Best Flower Subscriptions
We looked at reviews of floral companies, asked experts about the best ones, and then reached out to a range of services. We wanted to highlight different price ranges, small businesses, sustainability, and the ability to easily change the frequency of deliveries. Each service is different but all are perfect for gifting your bridal party or yourself.
