Ben Platt Shares New Photos from His Engagement to Noah Galvin

The Broadway alums announced the exciting news in November of 2022.

Ben Platt and Noah Galvin announced their engagement on November 25, 2022 with a series of sweet photos from the intimate proposal. Now, the former Broadway stars are sharing even more details behind the romantic evening, which took place at Laser Wolf Brooklyn. On December 5, 2022, Platt posted a ten more sentimental images from the night he proposed to Galvin. “More 💍💕,” he writes on social media. “Thanks to all who made it special.”

The carousel begins with a photo of Platt sitting next to Galvin at a candlelit table, surrounded by loved ones. The next image shows the former Dear Evan Hansen starsboth Platt and Galvin have held the lead role in the show—embracing in front of floating candles and autumnal floral arrangements while a live a guitarist performs behind them. The Pitch Perfect actor also includes photos of the future newlyweds posing with friends as Platt kisses the Booksmart star.

Several of the photos feature loved ones who celebrated the couple during their engagement and capture snapshots of the attendees enjoying the celebration. One photo appears to show Beanie Feldstein, one of the duo's close friends, admiring Galvin's new engagement ring. Platt ends the collection with a precious snap of the duo kissing.

The couple first revealed the engagement news to their Instagram followers last week. “He agreed to hang out forever 💕,” Platt’s caption says. Galvin also commemorated the milestone by posting similar photos from the proposal. “I said yeehaw and then cried for like 7 hours 🫂,” he writes. In his post, Galvin also showed off his new engagement ring, which appears to be a yellow gold band that features an emerald-cut center stone, presumably a diamond.

Many celebrities flocked to the comments section and shared congratulatory messages with the newly engaged couple. “These pics 🥹🥹🥹🥹,” Hilary Duff comments. “Wow!!! Congrats!!!” Mindy Kaling gushes. “😍😍😍😍,” Sarah Hyland writes. 

In November of 2017, after Platt stepped down from his role as Evan Hansen in the Tony Award-winning broadway musical Dear Evan Hansen, Galvin took on the role as his replacement. From there, the two became close friends, which ultimately turned into a romantic relationship a few years later. Galvin first confirmed that he was dating Platt in May of 2020 when he appeared on an episode of the Little Known Facts with Ilana Levine podcast. The People We Hate at the Wedding star told Kelly Clarkson in June of 2021 how their relationship evolved. “Right before the pandemic, we finally decided to really give it a shot,” he explained. “We kind of skated around it for a long time.” 

That same year, Platt discussed to Out magazine that having Galvin as a partner makes him appreciate life more. “[Galvin] has a really unique ability to help me to be present where I am and to make the life that’s happening day to day too wonderful to not want to be on the ground for it,” he said the publication.
