Becky G Is Engaged to Soccer Star Sebastian Lletget

After six years together, Becky G and Sebastian Lletget are taking their relationship to a whole new level. On December 9, 2022, the Latin pop star and the professional soccer player announced that they’re engaged. In a joint Instagram post, the couple reveals a look at the dreamy details behind the proposal. “Our spot forever. 🤍,” the caption says.

Based on the photos, it appears that Lletget got down on one knee while the pair watched the sunset on a boardwalk overlooking the water. In the third and final photo in the carousel, the “Shower” singer threw up her left hand, debuting her seven-to-eight carat oval-shaped diamond engagement ring set in yellow gold, according to Brilliant Earth, and her French manicure.

For the special occasion, the pop sensation stunned in an all-leather outfit, while her husband-to-be matched his fiancée in a leather jacket.

A day before the duo revealed the big news, TikTok user @thealiyahv posted a video of the proposal. “Just witnessed Becky G’s proposal,” the caption says. The video shows Lletget on one knee, asking Becky G to take his hand in marriage, before the singer crouches down on the ground in front of him in shock and excitement. After the pop star accepts, the couple embraces while a photographer captures the entire series of events. 

The duo first began dating in 2016 after her Power Rangers co-star Naomi Scott set them up. Since Scott’s husband, Jordan Spence, was teammates with Lletget, she wanted to introduce the two of them, J-14 reported in 2017. At first, Becky G was hesitant to go on a blind date. "I was like, 'Nah, I don't want to be with anybody,” she said on Mega 96.3. “I’ve been there, done that [with] the relationship thing. I'm focused right now. I'm good. I'm good.' She's like, 'It's fine, it's fine, I already know who you're going to marry. It's fine, it's fine.'"

Becky G wasn’t convinced until the Aladdin actress showed the singer a video of him. “I'm trying to downplay it because I'm like, 'He's fine, good-looking. What is going on?’” she recounts on air. “It kind of all led to that. He came out of nowhere.”

On November 17, 2022, the “La Loto” singer and professional athlete attended the Latin Grammys together, and they shared a behind-the-scenes look at their date night. “Singing isn’t really my thing but I still took home the best award 🥇🖤,” Lletget posted on Instagram.
