You don't have to be a parent to know that baby tracker apps are having a serious moment—I first heard of them when a co-worker told me her friend was sharing daily photos of her baby with her through Tinybeans (it's adorable).

These helpful services often act as a virtual baby book that you can share with family and friends without needing to post on social media, which is particularly clutch if you're wary about sharing too much online. These apps can also help you track everything from daily feedings to all the firsts—steps, haircut, teeth, the works.

Plus, they can sync up the schedules of busy parents to eliminate the guesswork around the last diaper change or what the little one weighed last week. And most of these apps update in real-time, so your partner or caretaker is always up to date, even if they don't happen to be home at the moment.

This helpful app allows you to share a virtual baby book of photo updates with family and friends. No scheduling here—simply upload your images, and the app will send photo updates to your loved ones via email. With the Milestone section, you can track your little's important moments. Plus, the app's photo-editing abilities are superb, so you don't have to touch Photoshop.

You can order prints or custom photo books right through Tinybeans.

Baby Tracker

Many moms on Reddit said they liked the Baby Tracker app. In our opinion, it's one of the most practical—it tracks feedings, helps you remember diaper changes, and recognizes sleep patterns (naps, too). The Milestones section lets you write a journal entry and include a photo, while the Health section keeps track of immunizations, doctor visits, and the like. Bonus points: "They allow export of your data, so at least you'd be able to store it in case it doesn't exist in a few years," one parent notes on Reddit.

Sprout Baby

"I tried multiple apps…but Sprout was the winner by far. It allows me to track literally everything. 100% recommend," writes one Reddit parent. Yes, Sprout Baby has all of the standard diaper, feeding, and sleep trackers as other apps, but it also has the option to make a medical PDF to bring to your doctor visits (how cool). Plus, a customized homepage means your child's growth is tracked on a monthly basis.

Glow Baby

Glow Baby was created with the first year of your child's life in mind, offering 101 trackable milestones. It logs things like diaper changes while making it fun and entertaining from a graphics standpoint. It can also send personalized tips to your phone every day, so you never miss any important milestones. And if you want to connect with other parents, there's an in-app community ready for you to start chatting.

Baby Connect

In addition to all the standard functionalities, Baby Connect also keeps tabs on your baby's mood, temperature, and even the game they are playing. What's particularly helpful is the ability to set alarms for feedings, naps, and so forth. Some parents say that they love the data capabilities and that you can also log in from your computer, not just your phone. "It saved part of my sanity," notes one Reddit user. As any new parent knows, sanity is tough to come by.

Cost: $4.99; plans start at $8.99 per month

Hatch Baby

All the techies are going crazy for Hatch Baby since you can connect the app with the Hatch Baby Grow and Smart Changing Pad (a changing pad and smart scale all in one). When you do this, Bluetooth technology measures how much your baby eats at each sitting and how much they weigh. Another cool capability is the slideshow option that allows you to take a photo every day to see how your little one is growing. It's kind of like watching a flipbook of your baby.

Cost: Free; smart changing pad is $130
