Prior to pivoting to writing, she served as a partner, COO, and co-publisher at The Financial Diet, a digital publication educating young women about money through videos, articles, virtual and live events, and social media content. She oversaw revenue generation and operational functions, spearheaded and led branded content partnerships, and contributed to editorial content. During her tenure, the company grew its audience tenfold and built the team to ten full-time employees. Prior to joining The Financial Diet, she served as Marketing Manager at Sound Generations, a local nonprofit organization that has served older adults and adults with disabilities for more than fifty years in King County, Washington. She has also served as a branded content manager, book reviewer, barista, host, and server, all of which have contributed valuable skills to her current work as a journalist.

Education

Annie holds a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Washington, where she doubled majored in English Literature and International Studies. While in college, she worked as a reporter for student newspaper The Daily, piquing her interest in journalism. After graduating, she interned at Shelf Awareness, a book review newsletter based in Seattle, where she wrote reviews, interviewed authors, and learned the ins and outs of the book publishing trade. She then obtained a Certificate in Publishing from New York University's Summer Publishing Institute.
