"It has been noted that as early as 1930, brides have been changing towards the end of their reception into their 'go away dress,'" says Jacobs. "Although the concept isn't new, I have seen wedding outfit ensembles becoming trendier over the past five years. Some brides are wanting to change out of their wedding dress into something that allows them more freedom to dance during the reception while others want to change into something more stylish like a party dress." Jacobs says she accredits the increase in this trend to reality TV and the age of influencers.
