Adele Signed a Bride’s Wedding Dress During Her Las Vegas Residency Show

Most couples receive frying pans or a toaster oven after they tie the knot, but newly married Gaby and Evan got the ultimate wedding gift: an autographed wedding dress from Adele. For the Grammy Award-winning singer’s residency show in Las Vegas on March 4, 2023, during Weekends with Adele, the duo sported their full wedding attire—with Gaby in her gown and veil and Evan in his tuxedo.

While performing “When We Were Young,” Adele spotted the couple in the crowd and interrupted the song by asking, “Did you just get married?” The couple shouted, “Yes!” Adele responded, “You got married today? Congratulations!” After Evan pulled out a marker, the “Rolling in the Deep” singer wrote her name on the bottom of the gown. While Adele was walking away, the couple couldn’t contain their excitement. 

Gaby documented the moment on Instagram with a clip that captured the whole interaction. “Weekends with Adele ✨,” her caption says. “My world is made- found the love of my life and this man was determined to have Adele sing at our wedding… 7 years later all our dreams came true. Thank you Adele for creating the memory of a lifetime for us 🥰.” Evan also posted a video of the mid-concert autograph. “@adele please excuse my clammy hands,” he writes. “This was my most major fan girl moment lol @gababouthair #3/3/23.”

After the performance, Adele uploaded a carousel of photos from her show, which photographer Raven B. Varona shot. One of the images shows the pop star holding Gaby’s hand and captures the pure joy on the couple’s face after Adele approached them. “Weekend 14,” the singer captions her post. Another snap reveals more audience interaction: Adele crouched down while talking to a little girl. Some of the additional photos picture Adele singing her heart out on stage while wearing a black off-the-shoulder dress by Jenny Packham covered in gold embellishments. 

Since Adele started Weekends with Adele in November of 2022, the show has been full of moving moments. In January of 2023 during a concert at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas, while Adele performed “When We Were Young,” she saw a man in the crowd who was holding up a photo of his wife on his phone. Later, while singing “Someone Like You,” Adele dedicated the song to that man. “This is for you, sir, who’s showing me a photo of his wife on his phone,” she said. 

After the performance, Adele spoke to the crowd about the interaction. "When I walk through the crowd, I wish you could see what I could see. I know I talk to a few people every night, but then, I just see little stories of people happening. There was a man. He's just there. Can you see him holding his phone up? I think that's his wife on his phone, and I don't think she's here, and it just really moved me. It looks like you're here on your own, and I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry for your loss, and I'm so sorry I didn't realize what you were showing me until I was already over there. I see these little pockets of people's lives when I walk through, and it's so beautiful.”
