Editorial Guidelines

Our editors and writers take great pride in the quality of our work and create original, accurate, expert content that is free of ethical concerns, conflicts, or misinformation. We share everything you need to know today, while making sure our library is kept accurate. If you see something that doesn’t seem up to date, please let us know by emailing us at contact@brides.com.

As is common in the media industry, Brides editors and writers are sometimes provided with complimentary products or visits to properties for review purposes. While it does not influence our coverage, Brides believes in full disclosure of all potential conflicts of interest. This disclosure is present in any articles where applicable.

Our product reviews are independent and based on research and product testing. If you visit links within our content, we may receive commissions from your purchases, but we never receive any compensation or consideration for the content of our recommendations.

Fact Checking

Our writers confirm all information and data gathered for all articles, including news. We consult relevant, diverse, qualified sources to ensure we’re providing proper context and background to the reader.

Each news article is thoroughly reviewed by a staff editor and fact checked by staff. Articles are rigorously evaluated for accuracy, relevance, and timeliness.

If you have noticed an issue you would like to bring to our attention, please let us know by emailing contact@brides.com.

Corrections

Our editorial teams are committed to telling readers whenever a factual error has been made on a news story at the time of publication. We will correct the error as quickly as possible and alert readers to the correction. All corrections will be clearly labeled as such, and will include what was changed and when. When an article is factually correct, but the language is not as clear or detailed as necessary, the story may be updated without an editor’s note.

News articles often cover a distinct event in time, so they are not routinely updated. Our editorial teams are continually evaluating and updating evergreen articles to ensure they are timely, accurate, and relevant. Each article is date-stamped to reflect when they were last updated.

If you would like to report an error, you can do so by emailing contact@brides.com.

Sourcing

Our writers and editors adhere to strict standards for article sourcing. We rely on current and reputable primary sources, such as expert interviews, government organizations, and professional and academic institutions. All data points, facts, and claims are backed up by at least one reputable source.

We strongly discourage the use of anonymous or unnamed sourcing, as this can erode transparency and reader trust. In the rare instance where an unnamed source is used, we will disclose to readers the reason behind the anonymity and provide necessary context.

A cornerstone of our reporting and sourcing is to consider often overlooked perspectives from diverse communities, including BIPOC and LGBTQ+. Our content strives to serve all communities.

A Diversity Pledge From Brides

Weddings are celebrations of love, and we need to make sure everyone has a voice in that celebration. It is our absolute commitment that everyone sees themselves represented on Brides.
