- Question:
- As I walk down the aisle, do I really have to use the traditional step-touch-right, step-touch-left method?
- Answer:
Definitely not—but it might help keep you calm and focused. This particular strolling trick was designed to slow you down, which is a good thing. When you're excited, your tendency is to walk quickly toward the altar, depriving your guests of a good look (after all, you are the main attraction!), and depriving you of the opportunity to soak up the scene. Try walking normally during your rehearsal. If you find yourself rushing even then, consider a more fluid version of the step-touch technique for the actual ceremony.
