The bride’s ivory-colored Chantilly and Alençon lace mermaid gown, by Christos, was from the Bridal Garden in Marlton. The dress featured a silk taffeta sash that crisscrossed the waist and trailed down the back. "I loved that the gown had a vintage feel but was modern at the same time," says Joy. The groom’s Kenneth Cole suit was from Men’s Wearhouse. The couple’s five-tier chocolate cake by Jimmy Duffy and Sons was filled with raspberry purée and covered in chocolate buttercream.

Instead of a veil, Joy wore a silk-flower-and-feather hairpin, custom-made by K. Autumn. "It was beautiful, and much more ‘me’ than a veil," the bride remembers.

Joy and Bob were wed in the first-floor gallery of the Hamilton Building, which was formerly an auto warehouse. "The gallery, with its white walls and high ceilings, feels very modern but also has a rich history," Joy says.

The reception was held in a modern art gallery on the second floor of the Hamilton Building. Guests dined on Thai curry crab cakes and Korean beef lettuce cups, chosen to reflect Joy’s and Bob’s heritage. "We wanted to subtly acknowledge our cultures," says the bride.

The bride, a graphic and textile designer, created all of the wedding’s paper goods. Guests wrote sweet sentiments on cards printed with "leaves and gusts of wind to represent the change of seasons and how much Bob and I have grown together as a couple," explains Joy.

The newlyweds danced to "More Than Anyone," by Gavin DeGraw; later, guests packed the dance floor as DJ Ken, from No Macarena, played a mix of hip-hop, funk and pop tunes. "We were worried people wouldn’t dance very much," remembers the bride. "But our friends and family members danced the night away!"
