The ceremony was held in the estate’s summerhouse. "It was a perfect, crisp autumn day," remembers Caroline. "We were so thankful for the sunny weather, since there was a wind squall the night before."

The escort cards were arranged on weathered wooden shutters borrowed from the bride’s parents’ summer home. "We wanted to save space by hanging the cards, instead of placing them on a table," explains Caroline. "Plus, we thought the shutters fit in with the barn’s rustic feel."

For their first dance, the bride and groom circled beneath a canopy of white Japanese lanterns to "These Are the Days," by Van Morrison. The reception's music was provided by Brian Nicks Productions. Caroline’s family was instrumental in decorating the barn, and created the lighting design.

The buttercream-frosted cake by Chez Josef featured a Swiss dot pattern and gold grosgrain ribbon. Filled with yellow roses, a white-and-gold teacup, borrowed from the bride’s mother, served as a topper.
