Cristin's bouquet, by Amy Kate Designs in Charlevoix, was composed of baby roses, daisies, peonies and green hypericum berries. "I kept the stems long so that it looked as if they were freshly picked," she explains.

The 20-minute ceremony took place on the bride's parents' private beach, located right in the heart of Manistee National Forest. "We wanted to bring our family and friends away from hectic city life to a more quiet, peaceful setting," says Cristin.

The couple wrapped twine around trees lining the way to the reception tent; escort cards were attached to the twine with clothes pins. "There were so many trees around the reception area that we just had to use them for something," Cristin jokes.

The couple produced their elegant, woodsy fete in collaboration with MerryMakers. Colorful paper lanterns from lunabazaar.com hung inside the tent. Chairs and linens were rented from Special Events Rental in Warren.
