- Start your entertainment search as soon as you have your reception site selected.
- Sign a contract to secure your wedding date.
6–8 months
- Choose first-dance, last-dance, father-daughter and other important songs. Check out our Real Couples' Playlists for some ideas. Be sure the band or DJ has them in their repertoire.
- Start dance lessons to wow the crowd on your wedding day!
3–6 months
- With your catering manager or wedding planner, create a timeline of events for your reception. Be sure to keep a copy for the entertainers.
- Have the reception site manager check in with the entertainers to be sure that technical requirements and set-up needs are covered.
1–2 weeks
- Call the entertainers to verify the time and date of the wedding reception.
Wedding day
- Don't forget that the entertainers are usually paid on the wedding day—bring a check!
