- Question:
- Do we have to have a wedding cake? My fiancé and I much prefer ice cream or pastries.
- Answer:
The wedding-cake police won't raid your reception if you do without a big, layered confection. But skip the Baskin-Robbins for a sweet you can both cut into and feed each other to symbolize the start of your shared life. "You could do different desserts arranged on a staggered cake stand, which will make them stand out," says Jan Kish, owner of Jan Kish Le Petite Fleur in Columbus, Ohio. Consider an all-white variety, like coconut cream pie, cheesecake, and white chocolate mousse, or assorted pies—cherry, blueberry, lemon chiffon. Yum.
