If the thought of donning a veil and stumbling through a haze of bars for your bachelorette party sounds so "not you," we've got some other ideas, straight from the brides who enjoyed them.

A Surprise Night at the Cabaret

Florida bride Cheryl, 25, thought she was in for a low-key dinner with her girlfriends, until the car she was riding in pulled up to a building with a neon sign that read "Lips."

"Of course, I assumed it was a strip club, but it turned out to be a drag queen cabaret," says Cheryl, who works in marketing and public relations. "It was beyond hysterical."

The night included renditions of drag standards by the likes of Cher, Madonna, and Britney Spears, performed for an audience of women, which Cheryl said made it feel like a spontaneous adult slumber party. And because she is the kind of free spirit who's always up for anything, the "big surprise" worked.

Note: We don't advise surprising more delicate bride friends in this manner—surprises have to be 100 percent within the bride's comfort zone or they're just not fun.
