With more brides favoring the sweep of long tables over a sea of rounds seating ten, it’s time to rethink the usual floral centerpieces. Here, the ocean, even if miles away, inspired the pale watery blue of the glazed linen cloth, and array of starfish, shells, beach pebbles, and sea urchins down the center of the table. Candles in the overscale lanterns sit ready to be lit at dusk. Thin tumblers for both water and wine, along with the simplest big white plates, are appropriately casual. Pale wooden chopsticks carefully folded in linen string-tied napkins suggest a Thai menu.
