Erica and Riva on Shelter Island, NY

One couple holds their wedding at a cozy, tucked-away inn on Shelter Island.

Erica and Riva were married in a small civil ceremony in Greenwich, Connecticut, by Erica's grandmother, a retired New York State Supreme Court justice. A few days later, the couple hosted a religious ceremony and reception for 125 guests at a quaint estate on Shelter Island.

"We wanted our wedding to feel like a vacation, but without the hassle and expense of travel," says Erica. "We agreed that Shelter Island would be perfect. It's beautiful, relaxing, and just a short distance from New York City." After looking at the options, they decided to host the event at the Ram's Head Inn, a sprawling estate on a remote part of the island.
