RoseLynn and Anthony in Rio Mar, Puerto Rico

An urban couple head south for a stunning island celebration

RoseLynn sees dozens of wedding gowns each day while working for Bridal Reflections, her family's bridal-salon company. So when the time came to select her own gown, she was unable to choose just one. Instead, the bride worked with Ines Di Santo to create two spectacular wedding dresses. She wore this graceful satin taffeta gown with an organza floral embroidered skirt during the ceremony and changed into a more casual dress midway through the reception. Anthony was tropically stylish in a tan Stephen Geoffrey suit, a striped Brooks Brother tie and a green orchid boutonniere.

When it came time for RoseLynn and Anthony to decide between a large city affair and a more intimate island ceremony for their December nuptials, the New Yorkers chose to honor the bride's heritage and marry in Puerto Rico, where her family has roots. The couple loved that the island was exotic and exciting yet still easily accessible for their guests. "Going to Puerto Rico was a nice way to get away and have a party at the same time," says RoseLynn.

About 120 guests gathered at the Rio Mar Beach Resort and Spa (formerly the Westin Hotel Rio Mar Beach Resort), where they enjoyed lounging by the pool, exploring the nearby jungle and soaking in the island's tranquil tempo. At the outdoor ceremony, the couple wed under a pink-and-green arch that drew inspiration from the tropical surroundings. After a relaxed reception inside the hotel, the festivities concluded with a traditional Puerto Rican seven-man marching band that had everyone jumping on their chairs and dancing. "It was so memorable," RoseLynn says. "People still tell me how much fun they had." Kathryn Papanek
