"We had so many dates in Napa Valley—it's where we fell in love," says Wendy. "We wanted everyone to experience the Valley as we did during our courtship." The couple chose the sunny vineyard setting at Beaulieu for their wedding because it embodied their favorite aspects of the area. To complement the California sunshine, their planner, Joyce Scardina Becker of San Francisco–based Events of Distinction, suggested a palette of citrusy shades–yellow, green and orange.

An ivory silk chiffon dress with a V-neckline, ruched bodice and flowers on one shoulder by Alvina Valenta won Wendy over. With it, she wore diamond earrings (and later at the reception, a matching necklace) and a pearl bouquet, which were gifts from Benton, as well as her grandmother’s diamond ring. Benton wore a black suit and green tie, both by Ralph Lauren, plus cufflinks and a Tiffany watch (both personalized with engraving) that were gifts from Wendy.
