A love of sunny skies, golden shores and Caribbean culture led Narda Chan and Albert Gilkey to the Jamaica Inn, a low-key luxury resort in Ocho Rios. The New York couple hosted a three-day party, highlighted by a beachside ceremony, for an international gang of 67 friends and family.
Cool Cocktails: Tall glasses of lemonade (and bamboo fans) helped guests beat the tropical heat while they waited for the wedding to start.
Going Strapless: Balmy climes call for lightweight fashions that showcase a little skin. So it's no surprise that Narda chose shoulder-baring styles in chiffon and organza for herself and her maids.
Candlelight Reception: An alfresco affair lit entirely by flickering flames—there isn't an easier way to create a hip, sultry ambience. Votives and pillar candles decorated every bit of the reception site, including the long feasting tables, the pool patio and the ocean-view terrace.
Tropical Blooms: The savvy couple took full advantage of Jamaica's bountiful blossoms, incorporating island-grown bougainvillea into their arrangements, along with imported flowers like Casablanca lilies and dendrobium orchids.
Clean Accents: Understated elegance is the name of the game when your setting is easy and breezy. The menu card's simple white background with brown trim and bow is a classic example.
Partying Under the Stars: There's nothing like grooving in an open-air setting. While the crash of ocean waves provided a seaside serenade, this twosome added DJ tunes to the mix.
