As a special events coordinator for Vogue, Kelly Florio, 25, is a pro at planning big publishing parties. But when it came time to put together her own special event—her November 5 wedding to David Kasouf, 26—she wanted a celebration that felt intimate. The perfect spot: the Ocean Reef Club, in Key Largo, Florida, where her New York–based family has a second home.

On a warm, breezy afternoon, as 155 guests looked on, Kelly and her dad, Steve, walked down the aisle at the club’s chapel to Pachelbel’s Canon. "I had to pick it because I played it so often on the flute when I was a young girl," Kelly says. After she and Dave exchanged vows at a Catholic mass, everyone celebrated at the alfresco Tuscan-style feast Kelly and her mom had arranged on the club’s palmy, reef-front patio. "We’re big eaters," the bride says, "and we considered the food to be the most important part of the reception." The elaborate banquet included pasta pomodoro, steak Florentine, and artisanal cheeses; a different wine was paired with each course.

As the sun set and vibrant oranges colored the sky, guests danced to The Stingers, a high-energy New York band imported for the evening. They were "out-of-control amazing," says Kelly. "It was hard to keep people sitting down." Now, that’s our kind of party.
