Galin and Emily met when Galin moved to Pensacola from southern California to be the lead lifeguard for the Gulf Islands National Seashore. At the suggestion of her friend who had previously worked there, Emily decided to apply for a guarding position, a job for which Galin was recruiting.

Emily and Galin became engaged after three years of dating, and then planned their January wedding in less than three months! Their pink-and-latte color scheme showed up in the flowers, tuxedo vests and ties, bridesmaid dresses and cakes.
