Meg and Traynter in Singer Island, FL

An early-morning ceremony on the beach kicks off this brunch celebration

After the meal, Meg and Traynter sliced into a half-chocolate, half-vanilla confection as their DJ spun Average White Band's "Cut the Cake." Guests without a sweet tooth could indulge in an expertly rolled cigar, a touch Meg added to the reception because her oldest brother and father are cigar aficionados.

After spending the day preparing for the onset of Hurricane Floyd, Meg and Traynter serendipitously ended up at the same bar, E. R. Bradley's, in West Palm Beach, FL. Meg and her friends were interviewing patrons in an attempt to find Meg's perfect mate—someone with stellar housekeeping skills. When she met Traynter, Meg soon discovered he was no Mr. Clean. Still, the pair hit it off and danced all night. When they finally parted ways, they say they both had a hunch they had met their match.

Four years later, after the couple had purchased a house together in West Palm Beach, Traynter suggested that they climb onto the roof. "We had been wondering if we could see the ocean from up there," Meg says. Once up there, Traynter surprised his intended by proposing.
