The old adage that love knows no bounds is especially true for Ann Sik and Scott Chen. Although each grew up on opposite ends of the globe, both moved to Singapore for work and were introduced by a mutual friend a year later. "After we met, we kept bumping into one another—I thought Scott was stalking me!" Ann jokes. Shortly after they became involved, Scott's job required him to relocate to Hong Kong, while Ann stayed put. But distance couldn't keep the couple apart for very long.

Two years later, Scott and Ann planned a trip to Beijing so their families could meet. Scott figured the Great Wall of China would be the perfect place for everyone to gather—and, unbeknownst to Ann, the ideal spot to pop the question. When the couple walked up to meet their clans, a red banner was released at the top of the wall that read, "Will you marry, me, Ann?" Scott dropped to one knee and recited a poem he had written. "When I said yes, everyone threw rose petals on us," she recalls. "It was amazing!"
