Carmen and Shane first met as freshmen at Patrick Henry College in Virginia, but didn't start dating until they were seniors. At their wedding, Carmen wore a Melissa Sweet gown ("The dress of my dreams!" she says) and carried a bouquet of calla lilies, fiddlehead ferns, ranunculuses, and thistle. Shane wore an Express suit with a Geoffrey Beene tie.
