A narrow garden path cuts across the table, sprouting an airy array of brightly hued spring blooms—purple anemones, yellow poppies and ranunculus, white narcissus and hellebores, and blue hyacinths. Use whatever is in season and "plant" with a light hand so conversations spark across the garden. Florist’s flats of wheatgrass were cut to cover the length of the table, then planted with flowers, each in a water tube. Smaller clumps of wheatgrass in cellophane tied with raffia and a bright yellow name tag act as both place cards and favors. "Garden" centerpiece by Magnolia, sheer organdy tablecloth, Gracious Style, layered over a white cotton hotel cloth. "Tent" colored glassware from Calvin Klein Home, 800-294-7978; "Litchfield" flute and water glasses, at Bloomingdale’s; napkins and "Preston" stainless steel flatware from Williams-Sonoma.
