Hairstylists and makeup artists discuss the celebrity styles that brides are requesting for their wedding day, and how they tweak those (sometimes insanely over-the-top) looks for a "real world" wedding.

Your hairstylist thinks: Double-braided updo

"This is a soft, non-fussy style that's pretty but not too formal," says hairstylist Kara Sánchez of Fabulous Faces Studio 1, in Orlando. "I re-create it by curling sections of hair using 1"- and 2"-barrel curling irons. After gently combing the curls with my fingers, I start at the nape and pin sections up; when I reach the top section, I create two braids—one on each side of the head—and loosely pin them back. I finish with hairspray and a shine spray."

Products to try: Hot Tools curling irons, from $30 each ulta.com; Bumble and bumble Does It All Spray, $24, and Kenra Volume Spray 25, $17, both amazon.com
