7 Très Chic, Couture Wedding Dresses

It's all about France right now (just ask Halle and Olivier, Keira and James, and Kim and Kanye), so we jetted to the Shangri-La Hotel in Paris to photograph wedding gowns as grand—and stylish—as the City of Lights itself.

When it comes to romance, Paris is the end-all, be-all. The same can be said for fashion. With that in mind, we packed our bags, crossed the Atlantic, and touched down on the wide streets of Paris to photograph the most glamorous and utterly Parisian wedding dresses we could find. We paired those gowns with dramatic accessories like elbow-length gloves and veiled headbands to add a certain je ne sais quoi. For feathers, tulle, and more, click through to see how you can channel the chicest style possible on your wedding day.

Can you think of anything more romantic than spending your wedding night (or your honeymoon!) this close to the Eiffel Tower? Set in the 16th Arrondissement, the Shangri-La (formerly known as Palais d'Iéna) was once the home of Prince Roland Bonaparte, Napoleon's grandnephew. Today, the palace hotel offers 101 lavish rooms and suites, most with balconies and seriously sexy views of the iconic monument. Some even have views from the soaking tub! And if yours doesn't, you and your guy can always lather up while watching the flat screen that's in every marble-swathed bathroom—or not.

Behind the Scenes: The evening after this photo was taken, our fashion director, Rachel Leonard, peeked over this very same railing and witnessed a proposal taking place on the terrace below, complete with rose petals and a candlelit dinner. Now that's a proposal story to swoon over!
