Help mom look her best on your wedding day—Christopher Hopkins tells us about a few of the fabulous mom makeovers featured in his book Staging Your Comeback: A Complete Beauty Revival for Women Over 45.

Diana, age: 50

Her beauty roadblock: "Diana's a natural gal, and she didn't like to wear makeup. But natural and naturally appealing are two different things after a certain age. She thought no makeup was good; but sometimes you just need a little."

Hair fix: "The length of the hair dragged her down, so we brought it up to mid-neck which brought the focus up. And bangs are always more youthful than no bangs."

Makeup fix: "She looked natural in her after [photo] but it required foundation, powder, blush, eyeliner, brows arched, mascara, lash curlier and all that just to make it look like a natural look. We did really natural makeup with very soft lips."

Her wedding day look: "For her hair, it would be great just pulled back into a sleek little ponytail with just the bangs. She could also set the whole thing in some sort of curl, whether it was using a flatiron to add volume and dimension or a regular curling iron or even hot rollers. That's a really pretty, elegant look."
