Expert Advice: Beauty Ideas From Bobbi Brown

The wedding beauty expert gives us a rundown of her best advice for a natural and long-lasting look.

What is the most important feature to accentuate on your face for your big day?

You should accentuate the feature you love most. On your wedding day, you want to look like yourself at your prettiest. If you love your eyes, play them up with liner and lots of mascara. If you love your lips, accentuate them with a bright shade of lipstick or gloss. Do whatever makes you feel the most beautiful. The last thing you want is to feel like someone else on your wedding day.

What can brides do beautywise to ensure they look great in their photos?

Since flash photography emphasizes pink tones, even out your skin with a yellow-tone foundation. Use concealer to cover any undereye circles you may have (especially if you've been tossing and turning the night before!). Set everything with powder to make it long-lasting and to ensure your skin looks matte, not shiny, in pictures. Also, choose a lipstick shade that is slightly brighter than what you normally wear, as neutral and pale lip colors look washed out in photos.

What can a bride do to ensure her makeup lasts all day?

For your eyes, use long-lasting eye shadow and eye liner and finish with a highlighter shade on your brow bone to make your eyes pop. On your cheeks, use two shades of blush-a neutral shade that starts at the apples of your cheeks and then blends up into your hairline and a brighter shade you should apply onto just the apples. To make your lip color last longer, line and fill your lips with a lip pencil before applying your lipstick. Most important, have fun on your big day!

How can brides get a natural-looking tan for their big day?

Self-tanner is a great way to get a natural-looking tan, but make sure to try the self-tanner a couple weeks before the wedding to ensure it isn't orange or fake-looking. Remember to exfoliate before self-tanning for an even finish. Also, bronzer works every time. Just be sure to warm your neck and chest to match your face when using it.

What beauty regime should brides go through to get ready for their wedding?

Make sure to hydrate—drink lots of water to flush out any toxins in your body. Also, use a great moisturizer to keep your skin hydrated.

Bonus question: If you had to choose one absolute-must product from your collection for brides to use on their big day what would it be?

The Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner in Black Ink. Nothing makes your eyes stand out like eyeliner, and this formula is amazing because it looks like liquid liner, but it's much easier to work with and you have a bit of time before it dries down.
