We asked a fashionable bride to share how she created her wedding-day look, then found similar items you can use to make it your own.

Geri's Style

"I wanted a dress that was fun and cute and not your typical wedding gown," says Geri, "so my mom made it. She didn't even use a pattern, but it was exactly what I'd imagined." In addition to the silk taffeta dress with turquoise silk straps and a tulle underskirt, Geri's mother also created her blue flower comb and fashioned a birdcage veil from a square piece of French netting.
