Jade Jagger has a knack for creating luxe bridal accessories

"I love beautiful things," says Jade Jagger, a jewelry designer with a talent for mixing classic elements with avant-garde detailing. "And I love to create them for others." Brides-to-be could not be luckier.

Once known as the party-loving daughter of rock star Mick, Jagger, 34, is now far better recognized as the current It Girl of design. Formally trained in the arts, she began experimenting with gold leaf in her paintings, then moved on to jewelry design. After Jagger's one-of-a-kind pieces hit the shelves at Paul Smith in London, it wasn't long before Jade Inc.—her eponymous jewelry company—was born in 1997. It's that renegade spirit that made Jagger so successful when she joined the luxurious jewelry house Garrard (then Asprey & Garrard)—once Britain's iconic crown jeweler—in 2001.

As creative director of Garrard, Jagger is widely hailed as the tour de force behind its reinvented, cutting-edge image. Her who's-who following includes

Mandy Moore, Kate Moss, Courteney Cox Arquette, Usher and Scarlett Johansson. Though Jagger involves herself with the entire jewelry collection, her deep affection is for engagement rings. "It's the most important ring of a girl's life, so you feel you are really part of something special," she says. Now Jagger is also entranced by something fabulous for after the wedding: her brand-new line of luxe travel accessories, perfect for the posh bride.

Like Garrard jewelry, which often makes statements via symbols—everything from skulls to royal crests—Jagger's travel items are embossed with airline wings. (The wings hark back to her days on the road with mom Bianca and dad Mick, where she was a member of the "Junior Jet Club.") Travel mirrors and leather luggage tags are circular and come in a quartet of metallic colors—teal, fuchsia, black and silver—as do the leather passport covers. The python jewelry wraps and glossy patent-leather jewelry boxes feel more glamorous. "We're a new generation of travelers," explains Jagger. She relates to the busy, fastidious bride who wants everything to be just right, down to the stitching on her stylish passport holder. "It's nice to feel that you are surrounded by things that represent you," Jagger says. —by Meghan McEwen
