Today, an all-lace wedding gown feels sweet and romantic, but until Judd Waddell introduced this style, says Bridals by Lori owner Lori Allen, lace gowns were considered hopelessly outdated. "This dress helped brides realize that lace wasn’t only for your grandmother’s wedding dress," she says. Throughout the decade, lace would continue to make a comeback; even the "cool kids" (think Monique Lhuillier and Vera Wang) were using it.
